Overview

Asian Americans are an extremely diverse population, with profound differences across Asian ethnic groups with respect to country of origin, immigrant status, migration histories, access to resources, language access, and socioeconomic status. 

This presentation aims to discuss:

  • Terminology around structural competency and health equity
  • Underlying landscape of bias, stigma, stereotypes, and discrimination
  • Asian American experience
  • Practice and policy implications to support structural competency and advancement of health equity

Target Audience

Public health professionals, environmental professionals, physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, local health department staff and other medical and public health professionals.
