Make an Appointment

Know Before You Go

To make an appointment in this facility you need to be a registered Undergraduate Student, Faculty/Staff, or a Graduate Student with a valid Graduate Student Membership. To purchase a Graduate Student Membership please click Purchase a Graduate Student Membership.

Prior to arriving at one of the Campus Recreation Fitness Facilities you will need...
1. An emailed receipt of your Daily Health Screening Assessment to display upon arrival. This screening is taken through your MyUAlbany account or by clicking on Daily Health Screening Assessment and selecting Student or Faculty/Staff in top left.

2. A scheduled appointment in the facility. To make an appointment please click Schedule an Appointment. If you need assistance on how to schedule an appointment, please click Instructions to Schedule an Appointment.

3. An approved mask. Approved masks are cloth based face coverings that completely cover your mouth and nose or a disposable mask. Non-approved masks are gaiters, buffs, and bandanas.

4. Your Albany ID card used to swipe into the facility. 

Appointment blocks are scheduled for one hour. You may arrive at any point during your scheduled block but you must leave when the appointment time has ended.

Policies & Rules

  1. All patrons must have a valid UAlbany ID.
  2. No gum, food, or drinks (except water in closed, plastic containers) is allowed.
  3. Sandals, flip flops, crocs, boots, black-soled shoes, jeans, and any pants with buttons or hardware (zippers/rivets) and skirts are prohibited.
  4. Athletic shoes must be worn at all times.
  5. No weight lifting chalk is permitted.
  6. Shirts are required at all times. Cutoffs, midriffs, or altered shirts are prohibited.
  7. Olympic lifting is prohibited- this includes cleans, snatches, and jerks.
  8. Do not drop weights. Do not allow machine places to slam down.
  9. Equipment should only be used for its intended use.
  10. Exercises that cannot be performed in a safe manner or pose any risk to others are prohibited.
  11. Weight collars, pins, clips & machine safety hooks MUST be used. Spotters are recommended.
  12. Re-rack all weights/plates to their designated storage areas.
  13. Benches must be kept out of walkway. Decline benches may not be moved.
  14. All belongings must be kept in the cubbies.
  15. Campus Recreation is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
  16. Bars may not be removed from their racks for use in exercises other than the lifts meant for that station.
  17. Please report equipment failures to the staff on duty.
  18. Wipe off controls, seats, pads, and railings before and after using equipment.
  19. Personal trainers not hired or authorized by the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation may not train clients within the SEFCU, Colonial Quad, and Indian Quad Fitness Centers.
  20. The use of drugs and alcohol is prohibited prior to and within the SEFCU, Colonial Quad, and Indian Quad Fitness Centers.
  21. Visitors are only allowed access in SEFCU Fitness Center with valid day pass. No visitor access is permitted in Indian or Colonial Quad Fitness Centers.
  22. Graduate Students, and off campus students are only permitted access to SEFCU Fitness Centers.
  23. During Special Events and Home Basketball Games, the back door will be the entrance and exit for the SEFCU Fitness Center starting 2.5 hours prior to tip off switching back over 2.5 hours afterwards.

The Office of Campus Recreation is committed to holding all events in a safe environment free from bullying or harassment. Offensive language or actions including profanity, derogatory remarks regarding a person’s race, ethnicity, culture, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, ability, national origin, veteran status, social economic class, religion, professional status, or other intimidating actions directed at officials, event staff, students, coaches, patrons, participants or spectators will not be tolerated and may be grounds for removal from the recreational site and from future usage.
