Early Assurance to University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine
Early Assurance to University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine
Although the University at Albany has no formal agreement with University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, University at Albany sophomore students who intend to go to dental school after graduation may apply to the Early Assurance Program. The Program allows qualified students to continue their undergraduate work without the pressures associated with medical school preparation.
The Early Assurance Program at the School of Dental Medicine was developed to offer the opportunity for early acceptance to academically strong undergraduate students focused on a career in dentistry. Application to the program is made at the end of the second year of undergraduate study, therefore interested students should expect to complete the pre-health advisory committee interview and evaluation process in the spring of their sophomore year. Accepted applicants go on to complete the remaining two years of college and attain a bachelor's degree before entering the School of Dental Medicine. This program is designed to free students from the pressures and expense associated with dental school application and allow participants the freedom to select from a wider range of courses in the last two years of college. It is NOT intended to accelerate the length of time of an undergraduate education.
