The UAPA

The University at Albany Philosophical Association (UAPA) is a Registered Graduate Student Organization (RGSO) and the official organizing body of the graduate students in the Department of Philosophy. Our aims are threefold:

  1. To provide our members with the opportunity to discuss and analyze philosophical issues related to any area of philosophy (by organizing events such as conferences, workshops, invited talks, and reading groups).
  2. To promote our members' professional development by developing and distributing resources relevant to philosophy graduate students, organizing networking events, and providing members with opportunities to get feedback on their work.
  3. To represent the interests of philosophy graduate students in conversations with the University, the rest of the department, and the Graduate Student Association (GSA).
