As an incoming transfer student, you will choose an academic pathway to begin your university experience. All pathways will guide you toward your academic goals and include:

Students who obtain the Transfer Scholars Book Award and successfully complete the RSSW 290 course will be qualified to apply for a paid on-campus position with the Office of Student Engagement. Transfer Scholars Book Award
First semester transfer students selected to be a Transfer Scholar will be awarded $500 to serve as liaisons for new students and assist Transfer Transition Leaders (TTLs) in programming for transfers at the University at Albany.
·         Must have transferred to UAlbany
·         Must have at least a 3.5 GPA from your prior institution
·         Must register for the 2-credit RSSW 290 course in service and leadership from
          the Community and Public Service Program in the Fall 2019 semester
·         Must have availability on some nights and weekends to attend Transfer and
          Commuter programs
·         Must be available to volunteer 4 hours per week
·         Arrive to campus Monday, August 19th to attend training sessions on transfer
·         Help with Transfer Clubs (The UAlbany Driving Force, the Transfer Student
          Club, and the Non-Traditional Student Club)
·         Do weekly outreach to all transfer students about events/services/important
·         Attend and assist in Student Engagement and Transfer Services programming
           Participate in Transfer Orientation
·         Participate in Great Dane Beginning transfer sessions during opening week
·         Volunteer 2 hours per week in the Transfer and Commuter lounge
                   - Throughout the semester, complete the training to be a Community
                   College Ambassador. Community College Ambassadors provide campus
                   tours to interested students from local community colleges, visit local
                   community college campuses monthly to meet with prospective students,
                   and invite and accompany prospective students to large campus events.
