Honors College Senior Alexa Rose Passante Wins Scholarship for Graduate Studies in Theatre
Honors College senior Alexa Rose Passante has been selected as the recipient of the 2021 Agnes E. Futterer Scholarship. This $1,250 Alumni Association scholarship recognizes an outstanding student in theatre or theatre-related fields with support for the winner’s pursuit of graduate study in theatre.

Honors College junior Maxim Coulliard has been selected as a recipient of the 2020-2021 Presidential Award for Undergraduate Research at the University at Albany, for his research paper, Vertical Profiles of Ozone Concentrations in the Lower Troposphere Downwind of New York City during LISTOS 2018-2019.
Honors College Senior Katie Almon Wins Presidential Award for Undergraduate Research
Honors College senior Katie Almon has been selected as a recipient of the 2020-2021 Presidential Award for Undergraduate Research at the University at Albany for her honors thesis project. This important University-wide competitive award is established to recognize undergraduate research and scholarship.
Honors College Senior Simone Hassan-Bey Wins Critical Language Scholarship
Simone Hassan-Bey, an Honors College senior, has won a Critical Language Scholarship to study Korean this summer. She is the only University at Albany student to have received this award since 2016, and the first ever for the Korean language.

The 4th Annual Honors College Talent Show
Despite the challenges the pandemic has imposed on the Fall 2020 semester, thanks to the tireless efforts of the Honors College staff and students, the traditional Annual Honors College Talent Show premiered virtually and was a huge success!
Hosts Julie Jasewicz and Michael Mariani hosted this wonderful event virtually, and all attendees were invited to a virtual afterparty to celebrate and interview with the performers about their wonderful talents.
Music and the arts are a wonderful way of bringing people together and living in the moment, and we are fortunate to the many people who came together in this shared value to make sure that the annual Talent Show could continue despite the pandemic.
President Rodriguez Visits the Honors College Freshmen
Dr. Havidán Rodriguez, president of the University at Albany, visited the Honors College freshmen in the Fall 2020 semester on October 19th and November 4th. In his visits, he spoke to the freshmen about his past academic research and field studies examining the socioeconomic impacts of natural disasters, such as Hurricane Katrina. The Honors freshmen also had the opportunity to engage in a meaningful discussion with President Rodriguez about the value of finding one's path during their college career, and how his background helped shape his passion and choices. The students found the President's visit insightful and valuable, and the Honors College was honored to host him. Thank you Dr. Rodriguez!

A Lifelong Commitment to Aiding Others Makes an Honors Student a Truman Scholarship Finalist
Caitlyn Zon, an Honors College junior majoring in Psychology, has been selected a 2020 Truman Scholarship Foundation finalist for her extensive commitment to public service in both her academic and extracurricular lives here at UAlbany.
