Profile
Dr. Jurkowski is a 2004-2005 NIDRR Mary E. Switzer Merit Fellow. Her research areas are health disparities, focusing on social and cultural determinants of health and health behaviors. The populations she predominantly works with are Latinos, women, and people with disabilities. She studies screening practices and chronic disease prevention including prevention of cardiovascular diseases. She conducts community-based participatory research employing both qualitative and quantitative methods.
