Parents Handbook
Dear University at Albany Parent:
This Parent Handbook is designed to provide you with useful information about the University at Albany. We believe you will find it a valuable tool as you support your son or daughter throughout his/her college experience.
In addition to this Parent Handbook, the University provides other services to parents of UAlbany students. These services include:
- The UAlbany Parents Council was established as a vehicle to impart timely and pertinent information directly to you, the parents, and to create a convenient venue for your involvement in the University community. Membership in the Parents Council is free of charge and is available simply by accessing the Parents Council website at and submitting the membership form
- A Parent Liaison is dedicated to working with you directly on matters of interest or concern. Mrs. Holly Barker-Flynn, our Parent Liaison, can be reached at parents@albany.edu
- Routine email announcements and updates are sent to the Parents Council members who supply their email address;
- A Parents Information line (518)442-5875; and
- Information regarding large campus events such as Parents and Family Homecoming Weekend in October, the Big Purple Growl in February, and of course, Commencement in May.
You are a vital member of the University at Albany family and we look forward to forming a partnership with you as we work to a common goal: a happy and successful undergraduate experience for your son or daughter. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the University at Albany.
Sincerely,
Christine A. Bouchard
