| Biography: Shadi S. Saleh, an assistant professor of health policy and management at the School of Public Health, focuses on evaluating the effect of changes in health care financing on health care costs, use and outcomes (with a focus on prescription drugs and hospital sector), and evaluating innovative strategies (e.g., case management) to prevent and treat substance abuse. Saleh was invited to serve as a guest editor for a special issue of the Journal of Health and Human Services Administration on "Prescription Medications among the Elderly." His work on evaluating the performance of health care institutions focuses on issues such as the effect of managed care on the hospital sector and evaluating pay-for-performance mechanisms. Saleh received his doctorate from the University of Iowa and his master of public health and bachelor's degrees from the American University of Beirut. |
