Biography:

Associate Professor Mary P. Gallant has a background in health behavior and health education. Her research interests focus on the influence of social support and social ties on chronic illness management, health promotion among older adults, healthy aging, and older adult falls prevention. She teaches courses on health promotion program planning, and public health and aging.

Gallant is a co-investigator of UAlbany's Prevention Research Center, as well as a faculty associate of the Center for Social and Demographic Analysis, the Center for the Elimination of Minority Health Disparities at UAlbnay, and the Center for Managing Chronic Disease at the University of Michigan's School of Public Health.
