Dr. Waltz is a research associate professor in the Department of Health Policy, Management & Behavior and director of the Center for Public Health Preparedness and the NY/NJ Preparedness and Emergency Response Learning Center.
He holds a Ph.D. from the College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY) and conducted postdoctoral work at Syracuse University, including a National Science Foundation Fellowship in Population Biology. Prior to joining the School in 1992, he had held a management position since 1988 at the Onondaga County Health Department, where he developed the Surveillance and Statistics Program.
