Living
Learning Communities
New
for Academic Year 2009-10
Open to sophomores, juniors
and seniors only
Living/Learning communities are opportunities for students who are interested in a given topic or theme to take certain courses together and to live together in a campus residence hall. Theme houses are opportunities for students who are interested in a given topic or theme that live together in a campus residence hall. You do not have to register for any particular course to live in a Theme House. The Department of Residential Life is proud to sponsor two living/learning opportunities and four theme houses for upper class students beginning in Fall 2009. Each living/learning program focuses on a specific theme and offers courses and experiences throughout the year that relate to this theme. In addition to living together in residence, you will have the opportunity to work directly with faculty who has a special interest in the topical area. In our theme houses, you will have the opportunity to work directly with residential life staff and fellow students in the topical area.
A brief description of the 2009-10 Living Learning Communities and the Theme Houses are listed below. Click on each link to learn more about each community, what is necessary to join and how you sign up. Each living/learning community will be located on Dutch Quad for the academic year 2008-09.
