The University at Albany is committed

beyond the classroom. The student in residence is viewed as
a total individual with many needs and interests along a developmental
continuum. The programs and activities that are implemented
by our staff contribute to this broad view of learning.
The residence experience seeks to integrate academic instruction
with the co-curricular opportunities that will encourage,
engage, and enhance students’ full personal growth. Students
are provided with opportunities and experiences that will
develop their listening, communication, organization, and
leadership skills.
This commitment to the development of the total student and
the belief that education is alive and vital in all corners
of the University serve as the foundation for the Residence
Program and motivate the staff in their efforts to achieve
this end.
