Dining
Campus Dining is provided by Chartwell's
Dining Services. All undergraduates living in residence
are required to purchase a meal plan. The meal plans are available
in weekly 'blocks' that can be tailored to the students lifestyle
and typically contain 'munch money' - a spend down balance
that can be used at retail operations on campus. Each Quad,
including Alumni, has a dining hall. A student may use their
meal plan in any of the 5 dining halls, even if they do not
reside on that quad. A student may also, during designated
times, opt to use a meal swipe at the campus center retail
operations.
A full Kosher meat kitchen is located in Dutch Quad Dining
and a Kosher dairy kitchen, Dreidel's Kafe, is located in
the Campus Center.
Podium +
Through filling out a simple application, you can add money
to your account to be accessed via your SUNY Card in the
same fashion as you would a debit card. It can be used

on the 22nd floor, also known as the Penthouse, of the Towers

These areas are usually open until 11pm on weekdays and have
extended hours on weekends. See your Quad Information Center
for hours of operation. This recreational space also relies
heavily on its fabulous volunteer staff. Don’t miss
out on a great opportunity to get involved and get to know
your community. Visit your Quad Information Center to find

assignment. There is one mailbox per bedroom therefore roommates
share a box. Mail is delivered daily Monday – Friday.
Packages are distributed via slip/pick up process from the
Mailroom in the basement of the Social Science Building.
If you reside on Freedom or Alumni you would pick up packages

Laundry facilities are conveniently located in every residence
hall, usually in the basement. Washers and dryers can be operated
free of charge.

Snacks and beverages can be found in vending machines located
in each residence hall. These machines operate on both a coin
and card system allowing students the flexibility of payment
options.
Appliances
Some residence halls have a small kitchenette in the basement,

in student rooms, the following appliances, UL approved
only, are permitted: pop-up toasters, closed element
popcorn popper, thermostatically controlled hot pot, and coffee
makers. George Foreman grills, Toaster Ovens, and any open
coiled heating devices are prohibited. Please see a complete

MicroFridge Rental
The University prohibits all microwaves with the exception
of the MicroFridge unit. The Safe Circuit feature suspends
power to the refrigerator unit while the microwave is operating,
therefore avoiding overloads to the system. In collaboration
with the Refrigerator Leasing Company Inc. the University
offers the opportunity to either purchase or rent MicroFridge,
Counter High, or Cube units. During opening weekend, the company
will be located on each quad to rent and distribute units
ordered. If you decide to bring your own unit, its capacity
must be 6 cubic feet with 110 voltage and 1.75 amperes or
less and UL approved. For further information or to place
your order, click the following link:

Residence Hall Staff
Over 200 students and Student Affairs Professionals comprise
the Residential Life Staff. They are committed to helping
you achieve your academic goals and serve as a resource in
that endeavor. Each hall is supervised by a full time Resident
Director who has a master’s degree and is trained in
counseling, communication, conflict resolution and community
building. Their offices are located in the lobbies of designated
Residence Halls, and can be reached via the Quad Information
Center. In addition, Resident Assistants (RA’s) are
an invaluable resource that aid students in their transition
to the campus community. They are undergraduate students that
reside in every residence hall who are trained in helping
skills, crisis intervention, multicultural relations, and
conflict resolution. They are responsible for establishing
a community in your hall, enforcing the rules and regulations
as outlined in Community Rights & Responsibilities, and
they disseminate imperative information throughout the course
of the academic year.
The Quad Information Center
The “hub” of the quad, this is a place that you
will often visit to seek information regarding a multitude
of questions. Quad Information Centers are generally open
during business hours and extend until 11pm in the evening.
