Student Health Services staff work closely with the Counseling Center in the evaluation and management of psychiatric conditions among college students.
Student Health Services has board certified Primary Care Providers capable of diagnosing and treating many psychiatric conditions seen in college aged students including sleep disorders, depression and anxiety.
Student Health Services is also staffed by a board certified psychiatrist.
In order for students to be seen by Student Health Services they must be directly referred by a Counseling Center Psychologist or Student Health Services Primary Care Provider.
Given the importance of continuity of care, it is recommended that students with known psychiatric conditions continue follow up and obtain prescription medication from their treating provider.
If it is not feasible to continue follow up with their treating provider, it is advised that the student establish with a local Albany psychiatrist for on-going treatment and medication.
