Welcome to Residential Life at UAlbany
Living on campus is one of the best ways to become an active part of the University at Albany community.
Welcome to Residential Life at the University at Albany! Living on campus is a great way to get involved, meet people and be close to campus resources.
Living on Campus offers students many benefits and amenities, please see the amenities section of our Living on Campus webpage for more details. All of our freshman are located on State, Indian, and Dutch Quads . These buildings have been designated as alcohol free and are a great place to begin your experience here at UAlbany.
All freshman students are required to live on campus for their first two years of study. If you live locally and wish to live at home with your parents, please fill out the Exemption to Campus Residency Requirement and return it to the Residential Life Office.
A majority of our transfer students live on Alumni Quad which is located approximately three miles east of the University’s main campus. A limited number of apartment style housing may be available for transfer students who are juniors, seniors or 21 years of age.
Increased Housing Information
When class size increases beyond the normal capacity of bed spaces, we use temporary housing as a means to provide housing for all incoming students. Please see our Temporary Increased Housing Information Page for more details.
