Annual Events
Student Organization Leadership (SOL)
Summit Each fall semester our leaders reunite at our annual SOL Summit to get them prepared for the upcoming school year. This event engages each of our value based leaders in community building, leadership development, education, and fun. The students spend an afternoon getting to know each other across sub-governing councils and participate in a variety of leadership development activities. The SOL Summit provides an opportunity for our Fraternity and Sorority Leaders to networks with leaders from other clubs and organizations on campus.
Information pertaining to university and national policies is distributed along with other helpful university resources that will assist them throughout the academic year. Students participate in tough conversations about accountability and the challenging yet rewarding journey they are about to embark upon. This summit provides valuable information and enables the development of our shared pillars of: Fellowship, Family, Service, Scholarship, Leadership, and Loyalty.
New Member Leadership Institute
In 2013 Fraternity and Sorority Affairs along with AGC created an opportunity to continue to develop our newly initiated brothers and sisters. We recognize that our new members are vital to our existence and so we have prepared a day long training that will support the leadership of our new members for their success as their first semester as fraternal leaders.
Order of Omega Induction

Order of Omega recognizes juniors and seniors who have exemplified high standards in the areas of scholarship, leadership, involvement within their respective organization and within the Fraternity/Sorority, campus, and local community. Members are selected from the top 3% of students at each institution. To date, over 500 chapters have been chartered throughout North America, each sharing the common goal of recognizing the many outstanding student leaders at their institution. Inductions for Order Of Omega are typically held in the month of April each academic year.

Fraternity & Sorority Life Recognition Reception
The Recognition Reception is an effort to recognize those chapters and their members who are making a positive impact in the University at Albany and local community as leaders, scholars and trendsetters. The Recognition Reception takes place towards the end of the spring semester. The All Greek Council and Fraternity/Sorority Affairs determine the award recipients and also host the banquet to honor the award recipients.
Presidential Weekend Conference - FSL INTREAT
At the start of each spring semester the elected council executive boards and presidents of each Fraternity/Sorority meet to discuss challenges and concerns of the fraternal community. This retreat focuses on peer education, teamwork, and inter/intra council collaboration. The All Greek Council hosts listening tours to better understand each individual council experience as a member of the fraternal community. The student leaders leave with new information to help with their success.
Day of Service
All Greek Council Day of Service is a moment when all fraternities and sororities come together to volunteer for a cause. Previous year's day of services included volunteering with the Pine Hills Cleanup, We Care Survival Kit Making, RED Bookshelf, and more!
Gamma Sigma Alpha Scholars Reception
The Gamma Sigma Alpha Scholars Reception honors fraternity and sorority members who have received a 3.5 grade point average for the Fall semester. Inductions are held each semester.
Rho Lambda Induction and Women’s Day
The purpose of Rho Lambda is to honor those women within the sorority community who have exhibited the highest qualities of leadership and service to their Greek community and their sorority. They are women who have furthered the ideals and principles of the Greek community throughout their years of sorority affiliation. Our induction ceremony is paired with our annual Women’s Day event. Women’s Day brings a panel of speakers ranging from female executives, entrepreneurs, university faculty, staff and local law enforcement.
Senior Sendoff
Fraternities and sororities have been a part of the University at Albany for over 120 years and have played an important role in the lives of our students and alumni since then. In addition, they have contributed much to our campus community through their involvement in other student organizations, educational programs, service and philanthropy projects, and social activities. The Senior Sendoff is an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of our active and graduating Greek-affiliated seniors and connect them with the university’s Alumni Association affiliate groups.
