Obtaining Your SUNYCard

Your SUNYCard provides access to residence halls, fitness centers, meal plans, vending machines, Shop24, Munch Money, Podium, library services and UAlbany bus services.  

For your protection, your SUNYCard can only be used by you.  Purchases made with your SUNYCard that exceed $25, will require a second form of photo identification.

I will be coming to the University at Albany as a freshman or transfer student, how do I obtain my SUNYCard?

Incoming freshmen and transfer students receive their SUNYCard during their Orientation program. In order to obtain your card please follow the instructions below:

  1. Once you receive your NetID and set your password, login to your MyUAlbany account.
  2. On the left, under SUNYCard Services select SUNYCard Online Services. You will be brought to the SUNYCard Online Services- GET site.
  3. Select login.
  4. On the right select Upload ID Photo.
  5. Follow instructions to upload a current photo for production.

When will I receive my SUNYCard?

Your SUNYCard will be produced prior to your arrival for Orientation and distributed upon check-in.You will need to provide an official form of photo identification (e.g. driver’s license or passport) to receive your SUNYCard. There is no charge for the first card issued to you.

I am not a freshman or transfer student, how do I obtain my SUNYCard?

You must first be registered for the current semester in order to obtain a SUNYCard. Once registered, bring an official form of photo identification (e.g. driver’s license or passport) with you to the SUNYCard Office to receive your card. There is no charge for the first card issued to you.

I am a University employee, how do I obtain my SUNYCard?

To obtain a SUNYCard, faculty and staff must be a currently active employee. At the start of employment, bring an official form of photo identification (e.g. driver’s license or passport) with you to the SUNYCard Office to receive your card. There is no charge for the first card you receive.
