Your SUNYCard Podium Account

When you receive your SUNYCard, a Podium Account is automatically set up for you.
When you deposit funds in your Podium account, you can enjoy the convenience of cashless purchases just about everywhere on campus, and at many off campus locations.
The Podium card functions like a debit account. All you do is swipe your SUNYCard at one of the many locations that accept Podium, and your purchase amount is automatically deducted from your balance.
You can use your Podium account as much as you need each day at any location, there is only one exception - there is a $10 per day maximum purchase in vending machines, to protect you if your card is lost or stolen.
You're able to track your account balance because it appears on the cash register display screen after each purchase. and you can also check your balance and transactions on-line.

Podium can be used for vending machine purchases 24/7
You can make cashless purchases at the University Bookstore, Rapid Copy, Copies Plus, and with Off-Podium vendors.
You can purchase food with your Podium account and have it delivered to you on campus by participating Off Podium vendors
You can use Podium to purchase tickets for performances at the Performing Arts Center.

To Check The Balance:

Sign-Up: We'll email you if the balance drops below $10
(email: sunycard@albany.edu)
On-Line: For balance info and statements, sign up at PodiumNet
Campus Dining Services: The cashier should be able to provide you with your Munch Money or Podium balance . . . just ask!
Vending Machines: The balance displayed at the end of the transaction is the total of all Munch Money and/or Podium available on your account.
Library Value Adding Stations & Copier Readers: Show Podium balances only
The SUNYCard Office: We can't give balances out over the phone for security reasons, but are happy to help you out whenever you come in!

Important Information About Your Podium Account

Your Podium balance carries over from semester to semester, year to year
Podium balances do not accrue interest
Funds can only be used for the intended purposes
There are no cash withdrawals from the account
There is limited liability for fraudlent purposes, if you lose your card, the account will be disabled. Once disabled, the account can not be used for purchases. In order to limit unauthorized use of the account at locations where identification can not be validated, there is a $10 per day maximum limit for vending purchases.
If you return books or merchandise to the University Bookstore that you purchased with your Podium account, refunds will be credited directly to your Podium account.
Podium Account purchases are subject to sales tax where applicable.

Getting A Refund Is Not A Problem

At the end of your University stay, if you have a balance above $5.00, contact the SUNYCard Office, B52 of the Campus Center
We encourage you to spend down your balance before you leave the University
At the end of your stay, if a refund is necessary (balance over $5.00), a check for the balance will be mailed to your home address
After 2 years of inactivity on your account, the account will be charged a monthly fee

Vending Purchases

When you make purchases from vending machines by swiping your SUNYCard between 11 PM and 7 AM, the system will deduct money from your Munch Money account. The system will only deduct money from your Podium Account if you have no Munch Money.

You may make purchases with your Podium Account at anytime.
