Chief Diversity Officer and Assistant Vice President for Diversity & Inclusion
Tamra Minor was named the University at Albany’s Chief Diversity Officer in 2007, after years of professional achievement in public and private companies and universities. She serves as a key advisor to UAlbany leadership and academic departments on the development of strategic initiatives to assist in the recruitment and retention of faculty and staff.
Minor also works to create a climate and culture on the UAlbany campus of diversity and inclusion. She is charged with ensuring that all UAlbany faculty, staff and students learn, live and work in an environment where they can be successful and feel valued and respected. Her efforts have extended into the Albany community, where she has led a variety of outreach initiatives. These programs have focused on issues affecting disadvantaged populations and benefitted both UAlbany and the community-at-large.
Minor received her Ph.D. from Ohio State University, a master’s in Animal Science from Ohio State University, and bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Missouri - Columbia.
Minor is a member of a variety of professional and community-based groups and organizations.
