Student Organization Registration

All student organizations are required to register with the Office of Student Activities in order to access various services, including room reservations, tabling, web/email space, posting flyers, and use of a page on MyInvolvement.org.

Registration is conducted via the organization’s MyInvolvement page. To register:

  • The 2018-2019 President should log into MyInvolvement.org (with their personal UAlbany NetID and password).
  • To access the organization’s MyInvolvement page, click on your name in the upper right corner of MyInvolvement, then choose the Involvement option. What will result is a list of organizations for which you appear on the roster. Select the appropriate organization, then click on “Organization Site” to visit the page. You’ll then see the “Register” button; click on that to start the registration process.
  • During the registration process, you will be asked to identify no more than two Reservations Coordinators (RCs) for your organization (access to EMS for 2017-2018 RCs have been removed), provide contact information for your officers, and upload a copy of your most recent Constitution or by-laws.
  • Before your registration will be complete and eligible for approval, your UAlbany Faculty/Staff Advisor must submit the following form: https://myinvolvement.org/submitter/form/start/193981. Please copy and paste this link (do not click it!) and send via email to your Advisor in order to expedite processing of your registration submission.

If you are not on the roster for your organization, please contact us ([email protected]) and we will send you a direct URL to your organization’s page.

NOTE: Upon receipt of your completed registration submission and receipt of the form from your Faculty Advisor, your registration will be approved. However, organizations that do not complete the following required trainings by the end of the Fall 2018 semester will become inactive. Please see below for more information.

MANDATORY SEXUAL VIOLENCE PREVENTION TRAINING
On July 7, 2015, Governor Andrew Cuomo signed into law legislation designed to help prevent sexual assault on college campuses. The law, commonly known as “Enough is Enough,” joins UAlbany and the SUNY system in recognizing the importance of utilizing you, our student leaders, to impact the number of instances of sexual violence on colleges campuses. To provide student leaders with the tools necessary to help make a difference, the University and the law require that officers for each institutionally recognized student group receive sexual violence prevention training.

Sexual Violence Prevention Project training dates and times for the Spring 2019 semester are as follows:

  • TBA

In accordance with this newly passed legislation, the Office of Student Activities must require the attendance of each organization’s President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer at one training session each year. Please note that attendance will be recorded, and student organizations that do not complete this state-mandated training will become inactive, ultimately affecting the group’s access to University services such as reserving space on campus, posting flyers, and using MyInvolvement. Please attend the earliest session that is most convenient, as space is not guaranteed at later sessions. Please note:

  • Student Leaders must pre-register for the training session on MyInvolvement.org.  You will receive an email confirming your registration and the workshop location.
  • Training starts promptly; latecomers will not be allowed.
  • Bring your UAlbany ID Card, as you will be asked to swipe your card to verify your attendance.

Questions regarding this training can be directed to the Student Organization Resource Center ([email protected]) in the Office of Student Activities.

MANDATORY HAZING PREVENTION COURSE TRAINING

Hazing is a national and dangerous issue affecting many campuses and types of organizations including athletic teams, fraternities and sororities, club sports, and student organizations. In an effort to better educate our campus community about hazing, we have launched an online hazing prevention course that is available to UAlbany students, faculty, and staff which can be reached at ualbany.prevent.zone. Please use your campus NetID and password to log in.

The Office of Student Activities requires each organization’s President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer to complete this training module by the end of the Fall 2018 semester. The course should take one hour to complete and can be finished in multiple sessions.

Please also visit https://www.albany.edu/stophazing if you’d like additional information about hazing resources at UAlbany.
