Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP)

Starting Fall 2012, all full time undergraduate students must carry health insurance. Only students demonstrating existing health insurance coverage can waive out. If you do not submit proof of coverage by completing the waiver form, you will automatically be enrolled in the University's Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) and the charge automatically billed to your student account. To prevent the charge from appearing on your first tuition E-Bill in July, you must submit your waiver prior to July 13, 2012. Waivers for Fall 2012 may be submitted now through September 10, 2012. If you submit an approved waiver after the SHIP charge has been added to your student account, the charge will be adjusted off your account within 7 business days. To avoid being charged for the UAlbany Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), you must WAIVE OUT of enrollment annually. Visit UAlbany Student Health Insurnace Plan for full information and to complete your Waiver.

Please Note: You must be registered as a full-time student for the Fall 2012 semester before attempting to submit the waiver in order for it to process.

Fall 2011:

Important Notice Re: Out-of-State Undergraduate Tuition Rates Please note due to changes in tuition rates for the Fall 2011 semester, you may see two charges for tuition on your E-Bill.  The combined total is your tuition for the semester at the time your E-Bill was issued.  Future changes or actions by the SUNY Board of Trustees, or changes you make to your class enrollments could affect the amount due. If your invoice does not reflect your TAP award, your TAP award information was not available to us at the time your E-Bill was generated.  Make sure to contact the Higher Education Service Corporation (HESC) online or by phone to make sure your TAP award has the correct school code for SUNY Albany. Please continue to view MyUAlbany and epay.albany.edu for changes in your anticipated aid.                                                                                --------- SUNY Tuition Credit In late June 2011, the New York State Legislature passed Governor Cuomo’s NY-SUNY 2020 Plan, which enacts a rational five year tuition increase for the State University of New York (SUNY). In order to maintain access and affordability for students and their families, Governor Cuomo’s NY-SUNY Plan includes a SUNY Tuition Credit. As a part of this plan, if you have applied and are eligible for TAP, you will also be eligible for the SUNY Tuition Credit. Students who are ineligible for TAP for any reason will not receive the credit. If eligible, this credit will appear on your bill as anticipated aid.

June 2011: TAP Awards 2011-2012 Please note:  When reviewing your financial aid, you may see a TAP award posted to your account but no additional aid (i.e. Pell, Stafford Loans). We will begin packaging returning students late June.  You will receive an email notification once you have been packaged, it will instruct you to log on to My UAlbany to accept or decline your aid.

Winter 2011 / Spring 2011 Invoices are now available on at epay.albany.edu!

Please visit epay.albany.edu; here you will find the fastest and most convenient way to view and pay your tuition and fees; or to set up a payment plan.

Some helpful reminders:

The due date for this first Winter / Spring invoice is January 15th, 2011.

Your most recent invoice will only reflect the charges, payments and financial aid that were current at the moment invoices were generated.

Students should monitor their MyUAlbany accounts often to compare the real-time / current balances and account changes (i.e. room and board, charge adjustments, anticipated aid, etc.) to the most recent invoice.

Authorized users may also view real-time / current account information under the "Current Account Status" tab at epay.albany.edu. Please see http://www.albany.edu/studentaccounts/pay.php for more detailed information.

If the invoice amount is different than the real-time balance due to any changes noted above you may pay the lower of the two amounts.

Please be certain to review subsequent billings (on or around the 20th of each month) to determine the adjusted balance; if any.

Finally; be sure to monitor the "Important Notice" section within MyUAlbany for any potential outstanding items needing the student's attention.
