It is the policy of the State University of New York and the Research Foundation of SUNY that all research shall be unrestricted as to the public dissemination of the conduct, progress, and results of such activities. This policy expressly prohibits, therefore, submitting proposals or accepting funding for classified projects that restrict public dissemination of results. This policy, however, in no way interferes with the manner and timing in which the investigator chooses to release findings, or the pursuit of a patent or copyright attainable from such results.
