"Information technology is an integral part of higher education,” he said. “Here, at the University at Albany, we have many new programs and initiatives, and technology is an important part of their success. It’s an exciting time to be joining this community, and I look forward to helping President Jones realize his vision for the University."

Ananou brings 19 years of administrative experience in higher education to the campus — the most recent as CIO at Salisbury University in Maryland. He credits his professional journey for shaping him into a student-focused leader with an appreciation for campus communities, systems, processes and decisions driven by data analytics.
