Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
The completed Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used by the Office Of Financial to determine eligibility for federal student aid. To complete the FAFSA, visit http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Income Information
When filing the FAFSA, estimated income figures can be used initially and replaced with actual income figures after the student and parent(s) file their federal tax returns.

UAlbany FAFSA Completion Dates
Available every year after January 1st, the FAFSA should be completed and submitted on-line through www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Prospective students wishing to receive priority consideration for campus-based aid* administered by the Office of Financial Aid must have completed the FAFSA and received an official expected family contribution from the Department of Education by March 15th.
Continuing students wishing to receive priority consideration for campus-based aid* administered by the Office of Financial Aid must have completed the FAFSA and received an official expected family contribution from the Department of Education by April 15th.

*The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), Federal Work-Study (FWS), and Federal Perkins Loan programs are called campus-based programs because they're alocated to and administered directly by the financial aid office. How much aid received from each of these programs depends on financial need, the amount of other aid received, and the availability of campus-based funds at UAlbany.
