How To Apply - Graduate Students

File Your FAFSA

The Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the only application you need to submit to be considered for Federal Stafford Loans at UAlbany.  The FAFSA, available every year after January 1, should be completed and submitted on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov.  Estimated income figures can be used initially and replaced with actual income figures after you file your tax return.

Graduate students are considered Independent for Federal Financial Aid and only need to report their income and spousal income when applicable.

To complete the signature section of your electronic FAFSA application, Graduate students provide their Federal PIN Number.  Students can obtain a Federal PIN number at www.pin.ed.gov.

The UAlbany federal school code, which you must enter on the FAFSA, is 002835.
