How To Apply
Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)

Freshmen Financial Aid Application


In order to be enrolled as an EOP student at UAlbany, candidates must meet the income guidelines for EOP admisssion, apply for financial aid and be financially eligible as determined by the Financial Aid office.

To determine financial eligibility, EOP candidates must complete the following:

  • File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  File the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.  The UAlbany federal school code is 002835.

  • File a New York State Tuition Assistance Application (TAP).   File online at www.tapweb.org.  The UAlbany undergraduate TAP school code is 0895.

  • Complete and submit the EOP Financial Information Form, available here.

  • Submit signed copies of student's and parents' Federal Income Tax Returns (1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ) with any schedules they were required to file for tax year 2006.  Use the EOP Income Reference Form as a guide to completing your income verification.

    If an IRS 2006 Federal Transcript is needed, use the IRS form 4506-T, found on page two of the EOP Income Reference Form.

  • Complete and submit the EOP Public Assistance Verification Form to document all benefits received in the preceding academic year from Social Services, Social Security, unemployment, pensions, etc.

  • The Financial Aid Office will review the completed documentation and determine applicants economic eligibility for the EOP program.
