UAlbany Students Participating in a Non-SUNY Study Abroad Program
UAlbany students who plan to participate in a Study Abroad program through a community college or an institution outside
the SUNY system and receive financial aid must:
Be matriculated in a program of study at UAlbany and enrolled in a study abroad program for a minimum of 6 credit
hours through a community college or an institution outside the SUNY system.
Complete the FAFSA by the deadline for the appropriate term.
New York State students planning to receive TAP while Studying Abroad should also complete the TAP Application.
Submit the Summer Financial Aid Application if you are participating in summer study abroad.
Submit your letter of acceptance into the Study Abroad program.
Submit the official estimate of program costs from the host school.
Submit your transfer credit permission form after it has been signed by your UAlbany academic advisor.
Obtain a consortium agreement from the UAlbany Office of Student Financial Services and forward it to the host school.
Return the consortium agreement to UAlbany after it has been completed by the host institution.
Submit a copy of your bill from the host institution if you are a TAP recipient.
To be eligible for TAP, you must be paying tuition to a host institution located in NY.
We recommend that all UAlbany students who plan to use financial aid to help finance a study abroad program meet with a
customer service representative in the Student Services Center, Campus Center G-26.
Make arrangements with the Student Services Center to ensure that the proceeds of your financial aid are
appropriately disbursed to the host school.
