Study Abroad

UAlbany Students Participating In A SUNY
Study Abroad Program

UAlbany students who plan to participate in a SUNY Study Abroad program and receive financial aid must:

  • Be matriculated in a program of study and enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours through the University at Albany or another SUNY 4-year college or university.

  • Complete the FAFSA by the deadline for the appropriate term. New York State students planning to receive TAP while Studying Abroad should also complete the TAP Application.

  • Submit the Summer Financial Aid Application if you are participating in summer study abroad.

  • Submit your letter of acceptance into your Study Abroad program

  • Submit a detailed estimate of program costs from the host school

  • We recommend that all UAlbany students who plan to use financial aid to help finance a study abroad program meet with a customer service representative in the Student Services Center, Campus Center G-26, to make arrangements that ensure the proceeds of your financial aid are appropriately disbursed to the host school.
