Dear Parents of Prospective Students,
From the application process to freshman orientation, getting your child off to college is an emotional time. You feel pride and joy about the exciting journey that you know lies ahead, but you also have worries. You want your child's experience to be positive and successful - and so do we!
The University at Albany has so much to offer your student. We are a nationally ranked, public research university. We have excellent student-centered academic programs taught by top faculty, who have a primary interest in helping students achieve. There are many other services and programs to support student achievement, offered by Residential Life, and Academic and Career Counseling. Plus, your student can choose from hundreds of activities, clubs, Division I athletics, and many opportunities for leadership and service. You'll also be happy to know that it's possible to get all this at an affordable cost!
We encourage you to visit UAlbany with your student. This is the best way to see first-hand what we are all about. We have designed this site to help answer your questions and to give you the information that you need to be an on-going partner in your child's education. If you don't see answers for the questions that you have, please feel free to contact us.
We look forward to seeing you on campus soon and hope that you will consider the many advantages of a University at Albany education! I wish you all the best as you and your student continue this rewarding process.
Sincerely,
Robert K. Andrea
