Freshman applicants must complete Part I and submit a personal essay and one teacher/counselor letter of recommendation. An official high school transcript and standardized test scores (SAT or ACT) must also be submitted. The Early Action application deadline is November 15. For regular admission, priority is given to applications received by March 1.
The University at Albany accepts both the State University of New York's (SUNY) Application and the Common Application.
Please Note: If you've completed any components of the Part II on the Common Application, you do not have to complete them again.

Transfer Application |
Transfer students must complete both Part I and Part II of the application. Please note: Criminal Justice and Social Welfare require a minimum GPA of 3.0 and Accounting and Business Administration require a minimum GPA of 3.1. Students applying to the Criminal Justice major are encouraged to apply as early as possible if they meet the requirements.
Students who were previously enrolled at the University at Albany should not submit an application, but should contact the Department of Withdrawls and Reentries at 518-442-5821 for the appropriate paperwork and procedures.
