Welcoming Hands Under the Stands

Hundreds of faculty and staff get together at Casey Stadium to greet each other and usher in the new school year.

ALBANY, N.Y. (Sept. 5, 2019) — Amidst multiple stations of hors d’oeuvres and desserts, President Rodríguez welcomed faculty and staff to the 2019-20 academic year at Casey Stadium last Thursday. The late afternoon picnic drew hundreds of University personnel, and featured brief speeches from the president and the University’s new Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Carol H. Kim.

The event, held in the shade beneath the stadium bleachers, featured door prizes, with 11 winners notified of their good fortune on Friday. In addition, collections of non-perishable food items and toiletries were made to help the Purple Pantry. Those who would like to add their support to this charitable cause may do so through the University at Albany Foundation website.
