A Successful Event? Book on It.

ALBANY, N.Y. (October 4, 2018) — More than 5,000 people enjoyed the presence of more than 100 authors — several quite famous — at the Albany Book Festival on Saturday. Many of the attendees listened avidly and asked probing questions in the Performing Arts Center and at outdoor writing workshops. They and several others were thrilled at the chance to chat and pose informally in the Campus Center with literary achievers of note.

An opening dance party hosted by local author and entrepreneur Radha Agrawal segued into talks by such literary luminaries as Doris Kearns Goodwin, Colson Whitehead, Alicia Ostriker, William Kennedy and Gregory Maguire. Other features included expert panels discussing everything from history to mystery to food (the latter including “The Splendid Table” host Francis Lam) and a visit from Gold Star father and memoirist Khizr Khan.
