Pine Hills Clean Up 2017

ALBANY, N.Y. (November 7, 2017) — On Sunday, more than 500 students and staff could be seen scouring through Albany's Pine Hills neighborhood, doing a different kind of scouring.

The campus group, many from fraternities and sororities, had volunteered to participate in the annual Pine Hills Clean Up. Hosted by the UAlbany Student Association, workers were broken into small groups and sent to various parts of the section, supplied with trash bags, gloves, garbage pickers, rakes and shovels. They brought their own camaraderie and good spirits.

Groups were individually tasked with cleaning up their assigned portion of the Pine Hills — home away from home to many off-campus Great Danes. They succeeded in bagging a lot of debris, leaves and other unnecessary sidewalk and gutter-al impediments, and had a generally fine time while doing so.
