Homecoming Day football: a big part of the weekend's action. 

ALBANY, N.Y. (Oct. 17, 2017) — Homecoming weekend is upon us, complete with theater, Hollywood glamor, Division I sports action and song.

Look to the Alumni Homecoming website for the complete schedule of events. Among the highlights beginning today, are:

  • 3 p.m. — Almost Maine. Performing Arts Center. A UAlbany Theatre Program production of John Cariani’s nine short plays that explore love and loss in a remote, mythical almost-town. Also 2 and 7 p.m. shows on Saturday.
  • 5 p.m. — Art Museum Reception. Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the museum, enjoying free samples from the Albany Distilling Company and Rare Form Brewing Company, while viewing the works from the University’s art collections.
  • 6 p.m. — Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, SEFCU Arena. Great Dane basketball fans will be excited to see the HOF entry of guard Jamar Wilson ’07 and the 2005-2006 Men's Basketball team.
  • 7 p.m. — Men’s Soccer vs. Hartford, Tom & Mary Casey Stadium, Bob Ford Field. The Great Danes take on the Hawks in a rematch of their 2016 America East Conference title game, won by the Danes 1-0.
  • 8 p.m. — FallBall, Campus Center Ballroom. All students are invited to attend for great music, free refreshments and a guaranteed good time.

Saturday (Homecoming registration 8 a.m. – noon in the Alumni House)

  • 9 a.m. — President’s Breakfast, Campus Center Ballroom. Join fellow alumni, students and families, University administration and staff for a buffet breakfast and robust program. $10/person.
  • 9:30 a.m. — Tailgating to Touchdowns. Tailgate parking lots open.
  • 1 – 3:30 p.m. — Great Dane Game Day Reception, adjacent to Tom and Mary Casey Stadium. A lunch buffet, live music and other activities to rev up the school spirit, including a bounce house, face-painting, balloon art and a photo booth. Game tickets are available at the event.
  • 3:32 p.m. — Homecoming Day Football Game, Tom and Mary Casey Stadium, Bob Ford Field. The Great Danes square off versus with the Black Bears of Maine. Game tickets may be purchased here.
  • 8 p.m. — Academy Award-winning actress Octavia Spencer (Hidden Figures, The Help), SEFCU Arena. Doors open at 6:30 and while the event is free, a ticket is required for entry and can be reserved on the Homecoming website. Part of the University at Albany Speaker Series.

Sunday

  • 1 p.m. — Art Song Festival, Performing Arts Center. A festival championing the classical art song this year celebrates Spanish song repertoire.
