ALBANY, N.Y. (Feb. 16, 2017) — Are you searching for a job or internship? The annual spring semester Job and Internship Fair is set to take place from noon to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, in the SEFCU Arena.

More than 160 employers are expected to attend the fair, and most are recruiting students from all majors.

Students meet with employers at last year's Job and Internship Fair.

“We encourage every student to come on down, whether they are looking for a job, an internship, or for networking and educational opportunities,” said Noah Simon, UAlbany’s director of career planning. “This fair is for all students, in all majors, and in every year.”

The Job and Internship fair is hosted twice a year, in the fall and spring semesters, by the Office of Career and Professional Development in partnership with the international fraternity Delta Sigma Pi.

Simon said about 1,600 students came out to last year’s fair and he expects that number to rise this year. He strongly encourages students to come prepared — professionally dressed for an interview and with multiple copies of an up-to-date resume. Check the list of the employers who will be at the fair to decide in advance which companies you most want to meet.

“The Job and Internship fair is an event that all students should attend, from freshmen to seniors of all majors. It’s a way to practice professionalism, connect with employees and make your presence known,” said Diandra Marte, a senior who is a social media intern and a peer career advisor at the Office of Career and Professional Development.

From 11 to 5 p.m. today, several employers will be available in the Office of Career and Professional Development, Room G50 in the Science Library, to critique student resumes. Students can drop in to the office between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday to have a peer mentor critique their resume.

There will also be a workshop this evening, “How to Prepare for a Career Fair,” in the Business Administration building, room 229, from 7:30 p.m. -8:30 p.m.
