Editor’s Note: UAlbany no longer offers the Merit platform

ALBANY, N.Y. (December 8, 2016) — As the semester winds down, many are thinking about pursuing an internship, applying to graduate school, preparing to study abroad, or of their post-commencement career plans.

If any of these apply to your current situation, is your Merit page up-to-date?

Throughout the fall semester, the University has shared a number of student achievements via the Merit system, ranging from academic honors to leadership recognition to research acknowledgements. These achievements were also shared with a student’s hometown newspaper, high school and state legislators. And when Merit pages are connected to social networks such as Facebook and LinkedIn, friends and family can also see and share in their successes.

If you want to stand out and present yourself professionally, be sure to utilize your Merit page. Each UAlbany student has access to their own page and can customize it with photos, work experience and other useful information.

A large number of UAlbany students are already taking advantage of Merit – since the start of the semester, we have witnessed a 211% engagement rate with nearly 350,000 social media impressions.

Don’t let this benefit go to waste. Visit Merit to find your page and make it your own!
