Blackstone LaunchPad Comes to Campus, Boosting Student Entrepreneurship

ALBANY, N.Y. (January 29, 2016) — On Wednesday, the University welcomed a new partner to campus: Blackstone LaunchPad. The multidisciplinary experiential learning program will support a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship for students by providing them with tools to advance bright ideas into viable businesses.

In addition to University and Blackstone representatives, Elsie Essien, a graduate student who turned her artistic talent into a viable business designing decorative fabrics, was on hand to credit Blackstone for helping her launch a business plan, and to affirm that the program's presence will positively impact original and enterprising thinkers from among the student body.
