Statement on Governor Cuomo's State of the State Address

January 5, 2012

Governor Cuomo's State of the State address captured the essence of SUNY's importance to the State of New York. In addition to the funding opportunities for SUNY’s four university centers in last year’s landmark NYSUNY 2020 Challenge Grant Act, the Governor’s extension of the challenge grant program to the other 60 SUNY campuses in 2012-‘13 underscores the critical role that SUNY plays in driving academic excellence, research and technology innovation, and economic revitalization across the state.

We congratulate Governor Cuomo on a historic year and look forward to his continued support as a key advocate for education in New York state.
