Application

If you are thinking about or intend to enroll in a University in the High School course you must complete the UHS Web Registration Application according to the schedule below. Completing the Application is the first step to the enrollment process. There is no financial obligation associated with this Application. You are encouraged to apply even if you do not subsequently enroll. Please read the instructions below thoroughly. These instructions are intended to guide you through a successful UHS Web Registration Application submission.

It is very important that you complete all required fields on the Application. The information you type in these fields will become a permanent part of your academic record at the University at Albany. Be sure to type accurately. The information you provide will be listed on your certificate of completion, official transcript, ID card, etc. Please be sure to type your full legal name and refrain from using any nicknames. Please also avoid using abbreviations. For example spell out “Street”, instead of “St.”.

Personal student information is treated confidentially and consistent with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). It is strongly advised that students provide their social security number when submitting their Web Registration Application. Though students will automatically be assigned a unique ID number for University at Albany purposes, the social security number will remain the primary identifier on all University at Albany transcripts. It will be easier for students to identify their records using social security numbers when requesting transcripts, perhaps several years after high school graduation. It will also serve the additional purpose of making University academic records consistent with records of agencies external to the University (e.g., future requests regarding confirmation of enrollment, financial records, and transcripts from other post-secondary institutions).

Your teacher will give you information pertaining to the course(s) you should select.

When you have completely finished the Web Registration Application, please review your information before you select, “Submit”.

Once you click the “Submit” button you will see a summary of the information that you entered in the application. It is very important that you print the Web Registration Application Confirmation page and keep it for your records (sample below). This is your proof/receipt of when you successfully completed the application. Please be sure the printer you are using is operable before you begin the Application.

Once you have successfully printed a copy of your confirmation page, please close your browser.

Do not return to the Web Registration Application to submit additional information or to make corrections. If you have changes that need to be made, please wait until you receive your Pre-Printed Registration Form from your teacher.

Please do not submit more than one application per day!

Registration

The UHS Office will print a registration form for each student who successfully completes a Web Registration Application. The distribution of pre-printed registration forms, enrollment materials and instructions will begin after the last day to submit a web registration application for each particular session. When teachers receive their packets they will be asked to distribute all materials to students. Students will then need to (1) complete their Registration Forms, (2) complete a Mentor Information Sheet (Summer only), and (3) mail all materials with the applicable program fee to the UHS Office with a postmark date no later than the dates listed below for each session. Please note that the University in the High School Program requires payment with registration materials. If any of the three required materials are incomplete, students will not be enrolled and the UHS Office will return all registration materials to the teacher for distribution. If a student has submitted a Web Registration Application and subsequently decides not to enroll he/she should not return any materials to the UHS Office.

Registration Forms will not be accepted if postmarked
after the last day of the late fee period for each session.

With the exception of two science research courses, the UHS Program does not offer courses during the summer session. In addition, UHS Program courses are offered through the high school only. High school students interested in enrolling in other summer courses or registering for courses on campus should contact the Admissions Office for special student application forms and information. Information is also available via the Office of General Studies and Summer Sessions. The University at Albany is a participant of the SUNY Learning Network.
