World of Accounting
The World of Accounting is designed for incoming freshmen considering a career in accounting. This community is open to intended accounting majors, including those who have been directly admitted to the School of Business,intended math, and intended actuarial science majors. This Living-Learning Community offers students the opportunity to live with others with similar interests, while being introduced to the academic and social expectations of a career in accounting.

World of Biology
The World of Biology is designed for freshmen intending to major in biology (B.S.), and considering graduate work in research or medicine.

World of Business
The World of Business is designed for freshmen Business and Accounting intended majors. These students have the unique opportunity to live with other students interested in majoring in business or accounting.

World of Career Discovery
The World of Career Discovery is designed for freshmen who are undeclared or open in their academic major. These students have the unique opportunity to live with other students interested in exploring different careers and academic majors.

World of Chemistry
The World of Chemistry is designed for freshmen intending to major in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, or in physics but with an interest in chemistry.

World of Community Service
The World of Community Service is designed for freshmen students of any major with an interest in community service. Through the World of Community Service, students will learn how their passion for community service will position them for success.

World of Creativity and Entrepreneurship
New for the 2014-2015 academic year!  The World of Creativity and Entrepreneurship is designed for freshmen of any major who want to learn how to translate their creative ideas into reality and make a difference in the world.

World of East Asian Studies
The World of East Asian Studies is specially designed for freshmen and sophomores studying Chinese, Japanese, or Korean. This L-LC will help you understand the culture and background for these East Asian languages. 

World of Environmental Health & Sustainability
The World of Environmental Health and Sustainability is designed for freshmen from any major interested in learning about the environment. Students will be able to live and learn with other students interested in sustainability-topics like organic food, global warming, renewable energy and urban sprawl. Students will take classes designed to increase their knowledge on these and other sustainability topics.

World of Fitness and Sports
Live with other incoming freshmen who are interested in balancing academic success, which requires a lot of time being sedentary and indoors, with a healthy, active lifestyle in the World of Fitness and Sports. Coursework, extracurricular activities, and community service will focus on exercise, nutrition, and the cultural forces that shape our understanding of work and food.

World of Health Psychology
The World of Health Psychology is designed for freshmen from any major interested in understanding how to create and maintain habits for healthy living in areas including nutrition and eating, exercise, and a life style free from substance abuse/dependence.

World of History
The World of History is a Living-Learning Community that brings together freshman-year History majors and other interested students who are passionate about studying the past and its relevance for today's world.

World of Laws and Justice
The World of Laws and Justice is designed for freshmen interested in a pre-law experience. While there is no specific “pre-law” curriculum, students involved in the “World of Laws and Justice” will participate in both classes and extracurricular activities designed to prepare them for law school and careers in law-related fields.

World of Psychology
New for the 2014-2015 academic year! The World of  Psychology is designed for incoming freshmen intending to major in psychology. Students will take classes and live with others who share their interest in psychology and will also get to meet and start developing important relationships with psychology professors.  

World of Technology
The World of Technology is designed for incoming freshmen who have an interest in technology, computer science, or informatics. Students will have the opportunity to explore the technological skills required by 21st century employers as they learn to create, analyze, communicate, and integrate information in their lives.

World of Transfer Excellence
The World of Transfer Excellence is for new transfer students who are interested in meeting other new transfers and becoming engaged in the UAlbany community. New transfer students with outstanding grade point averages from their previous institutions are invited by the Student Engagement office to apply to the World of Transfer Excellence.

World of Writing
The World of Writing is designed for incoming freshmen with a passion for writing. This Living-Learning Community offers students the opportunity to be engaged members of UAlbany's vibrant writing community, while becoming familiar with the academic and social expectations of university life.

Honors College
The Honors College is a community of developing scholars that includes some of the best teaching professors and some of the brightest and most serious students at UAlbany. The students are earlier in their development as scholars, and the faculty are further along, but all are refining and enhancing their abilities to create knowledge.
