UAlbany volunteers also are at work around the corner and around the world. The Student Association and Graduate Student Organization, for example, are partnering with Albany High School on a Student-to-Student Initiative, and student club Third World Impact is working with local partners to build an elementary school in Uganda.
Help support Community Service Month by:
- Attending the Kick-Off on October 5th;
- Adding to the campus-wide Community Service Month Calendar;
- Joining in activities like those listed on the new Volunteer UAlbany site;
- Increasing our impact through collaborative efforts throughout the year.
We are proud that UAlbany has been recognized for the last two years on the (U.S.) President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll. In 2010/11, nearly 7,400 UAlbany students participated in community service through volunteer work, courses, and internships.
Many thanks to our Community Service Month Planning Committee and Sponsors for making this initiative happen!
