UAlbany’s “World Within Reach” Speaker Series Features Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson Jr. October 15

ALBANY, N.Y.  (October 7, 2011) - Earvin “Magic” Johnson Jr. headlines the World Within Reach Speaker Series on Saturday, October 15, at 7 p.m. at the SEFCU Arena at the University at Albany. An entrepreneur, businessman and philanthropist, Johnson is the featured speaker for the fifth installment of the Student Association speaker series. The event caps off UAlbany’s Fallbany Weekend.

Earvin 'Magic' Johnson headlines the World Within Reach Speaker Series October 15 at UAlbany. 

Three years ago, UAlbany’s Student Association conceived and organized the World Within Reach Speaker Series designed to bring world leaders and thinkers to campus. To date, it has featured former President, Bill Clinton; former U.S. Secretary of State, Colin Powell; Barbara Walters; and Howard Dean and Karl Rove.

Johnson is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Magic Johnson Enterprises, which was formed in 1987. Through strategic investments, partnerships and endorsements, Magic Johnson Enterprises (MJE) provides products and services that particularly focus on ethnically diverse urban communities. A philanthropist, he heads the Magic Johnson Foundation.
