Ch’olan languages (from the Mayan language group in Guatemala, Mexico, and Honduras); Bantu languages (in Africa); Maya hieroglyphs; Epi-Olmec hieroglyphs; Maya iconography; Maya archaeology; comparative & historical linguistics; and optimality theory.
