    UAlbany’s Miles Thompson and Lyle Thompson have led the Iroquois Nationals to a third place finish in the 2014 World Lacrosse Championships, the highest placement ever for the team. The Iroquois Nationals secured the bronze medal on Saturday by defeating Australia 16-5.

    UAlbany professors from the School of Education and Department of Sociology collaborate on $1.4 million study to develop a literacy course on reading and writing arguments, geared toward high school freshmen at risk of dropping out of school.

    Campus Center Expansion

    Future UAlbany students will have access to a new 400-seat auditorium, a two-level fitness center and enhanced dining facilities with market-style food service venues, as part of a project to expand the University's Campus Center. Construction begins this summer, with an East addition slated for completion in September 2015 and the West addition in the spring of 2017.
