UAlbany School of Business Named Most Innovative Business School in the Northeast by European CEO Magazine

ALBANY, N.Y. (September 24, 2010) --

European CEO Magazine has selected the University at Albany School of Business as the Most Innovative Business School in the Northeast Region of the U.S. This is the magazine's inaugural global business education award.

The University at Albany School of Business is the Most Innovative Business School in the Northeast Region of the U.S., according to European CEO Magazine.

"We are pleased by this recognition of our ability to adapt to the most advanced trends in business education, because it means our students are well prepared to hit the ground running when they enter the business world," said School of Business Dean Donald Siegel.

The judges cited UAlbany's:

* path-breaking research on corporate governance and entrepreneurship
* unique ability to draw alumni into research conferences and the classroom
* innovative financial analyst honors program
* prescience in establishing a financial markets regulation program before the financial crisis and,
* skill at blending academic research into the classroom.

The award will be granted at a special ceremony at the London Stock Exchange, which will be followed by an interview with several UAlbany professors, conducted by the journalist Hywel Jones, formerly of the BBC.

A profile of the School of Business will appear in the December 2010/January 2011 issue of European CEO Magazine, and the award announcement will be sent to 46,000 corporate executives in Europe.
