As of April 24, 2012 freshman may purchase temporary parking permits for $5.40 a day until the end of this semester.
Effective Spring 2012, Parking Management has adopted an Immobilization Policy where a boot device may be attached to any vehicle where the patron owes $100 or more in fines. The owner or registrant of an immobilized vehicle will have three (3) days to contact Parking Management to settle the fines and pay the removal fee of $ 50 to have the device removed. After three days, the University reserves the right to tow the vehicle from campus. The implementation of the Immobilization Policy is designed to assist owners and registrants of vehicles at the University at Albany in avoiding the cost, anguish and inconvenience that accompanies having their vehicle towed from campus for excessive parking violations. We strongly encourage the owners or registrants of all vehicles immobilized for excessive parking violations to take advantage of the Immobilization Policy and the convenience to settle their parking fines here on campus prior to their vehicles being towed.
Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff:
We are happy to inform you that CDTA bus service will be changing starting Sunday, November 13th. Many Albany County routes will have improved frequency, later night service, and additional Sunday service. We have worked with CDTA to ensure everyone can take advantage of their new neighborhood route system for direct connections to major destinations.
Specific improvements to benefit the UAlbany community include:
Route 12 – Washington Avenue
• Increased frequency as buses will come every 15 minutes
• Access to Super Walmart at Crossgates Commons on every trip
• Increased number of late night trips into Downtown Albany
• Faster service because trips no longer enter Harriman Campus
Route 114 – Madison / Washington
• Connection between Uptown Campus and Madison Avenue corridor
• Additional service to Crossgates Mall
• Direct connection to CDTA’s Rensselaer Rail Station for Amtrak service
Route 712 – Harriman Campus / Patroon Creek
• Connection between Uptown Campus and Central Avenue corridor
• Another travel option Monday-Friday during peak commuting hours
If you are currently using your school ID card to ride, we encourage you to try the new routes as a cheaper alternative to driving to campus and helping the University reduce our carbon footprint.
