SERVICE ALERT: UAlbany East Campus buses will not serve New Scotland btw Holland/Madison. Board East Campus bus at Holland Ave or Lark St due to sinkhole at Madison/New Scotland. EC buses are on time just not serving that one section (AMC, Myrtle, Morris, Dana). Will update as conditions change.


Students/Faculty/Staff: Before you leave or if you are planning on staying around this summer:

Here is a need to know in Parking for the 2016-17 registration year of September 1, 2016 to August 31, 2017:

- To allow for effective turnover of parking lots, to ensure that the use of University at Albany parking lots are utilized only by those persons present and studying or conducting business on campus, and to assist with the implementation of inclement weather procedures, Parking Services will be implementing a Resident vs. Commuter student parking permit system beginning with the fall 2016 semester. Those students who reside on campus will be permitted to park on campus 24/7 whereas those students with commuter parking permits will be able to park on campus at all times except from 3:00 am to 6:00 am, Monday through Friday. A commuter student, for parking purposes, is defined as anyone that resides locally off campus and not in University at Albany operated housing at Liberty Terrace, Empire Commons, Freedom Apartments or Alumni, Colonial, Dutch, Indian, and State Quads. This new student parking permit system does not alter the current vehicle registration restrictions for first year resident freshmen students living on campus. More information about this change will be posted to the Parking Services website in the weeks ahead.

- Beginning with the fall 2016 semester, vehicle parking registration for all students will be conducted online only through myUAlbany: Once logged in go halfway down the left column and under Parking Information, click On-line Vehicle Registration. You can also simply register by following this link: Commuter students, as defined above, may begin registering vehicles starting approximately Monday, June 27th. Resident students may begin registering vehicles starting approximately Monday, August 1st. This will provide an expedited registration process and will better align with our campus sustainability goals by minimizing the use of thousands of hard copy paper parking forms. Under this system, students will register their vehicle online, then will receive a confirmation email that the order has been received, and within a few business days the permit will be ready in our office. Please note we process many permits in August thus plan your time accordingly as the Parking Services office will be open nearly 400 hours between June 27th - August 31st. You must be registered for Fall classes before you can purchase your parking permit. Additionally, all out of state plates/vehicles being registered for the first time on campus will need documentation of ownership at the time the parking permit is picked up.

- Faculty/Staff parking permits will be available starting on approximately Monday, June 13th. Hard copy and online registration will be available. But again, please don’t delay as we process thousands of permits over the 2-3 month period. Our office will be open nearly 490 hours between June 13th - August 31st thus please allow 5-10 minutes early in this timeframe to acquire your 2016-17 parking permit so that we may provide the best experience possible.

Need to know in Parking for Summer 2016:

- Starting Monday, May 16th, In an effort to maintain adequate parking spaces for our daily visitors and guests, UAlbany faculty/staff/students who have purchased a valid University at Albany parking decal or are eligible for a University at Albany parking decal will not be permitted entry into visitors lots at Collins Circle & Indian Quad pay lot. We must avoid filling the only dedicated spaces our visitors to the campus have to park with vehicles of faculty, staff, and students who have designated parking lots for their use. Violators will be subject to ticketing.
