After Hours Parking
University parking regulations are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Therefore, vehicles parked on campus must display either a valid decal or a temporary tag to avoid receiving parking violation tickets. If do not have a current University parking decal but need to park on campus, a visitors decal can be purchased at the Office of Parking Management during normal business hours , at Sefcu Arena parking kiosk, or on-line at https://epay.albany.edu/C21455_ustores/web/store_cat.jsp?STOREID=1&CATID=22&SINGLESTORE=true for $5.40 per day. Visitors’ permits are valid for student gold parking lots only and are not valid at any of the University at Albany apartment parking lots (Empire Commons, Freedom Quad or Liberty Terrace). In addition, short term visitor parking is available in any University Visitors’ Parking lot or at metered parking spaces throughout campus. No overnight parking is allowed in the Visitors’ lots, metered parking space or any other parking lots where signage indicates no overnight parking (SEFCU Arena lot, State Student lot annex, University Administration/Management Services Center lots, Northwest Gold lot).
Failure to follow the above parking requirements may result in your receiving a parking ticket. Parking is enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Resident vs. Commuter student parking permit system. Those students who reside on campus will be permitted to park on campus 24/7 whereas those students with commuter parking permits will be able to park on campus at all times except 3:30 am - 6:00 am, Tuesday through Friday mornings. A commuter student, for parking purposes, is defined as anyone that resides locally off campus and not in University at Albany operated housing at Liberty Terrace, Empire Commons, Freedom Apartments or Alumni, Colonial, Dutch, Indian, & State Quads. If a commuter student needs to leave their vehicle on campus occasionally between these timeframes please park in the southern portion of Dutch student lot and send an email to email@example.com so we are aware of the overnight parking need.
