After Hours Parking
Between 8pm and 7:59am, if do not have a current University parking decal but need to park on campus, you can park only in student gold parking lots (EXCEPT Empire Commons, lots noted no overnight parking, and SEFCU Arena). If it's before 8pm, but our office is closed and you need to park on campus without a parking permit, you must use a paid visitor lot or a meter, or you can purchase a temporary parking permit at our on-line site for $5.40 a day.
Failure to follow the above parking requirements may result in your receiving a parking ticket. Parking is enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Please note that effective Tuesday, 1/19/16 the Northwest Gold student parking lot will begin “no overnight parking” restrictions from 12a-6a daily, including weekends. This new restriction is similar to those at the State Quad annex & SEFCU Arena parking lots. This change will allow for effective parking lot clearing procedures during inclement weather events & will assist the campus community in identifying unauthorized vehicles in this particular lot during the timeframe restrictions for improved campus safety. We are very optimistic that this change will only have a minor impact to residents of Colonial Quad & Empire Commons and apologize for any inconvenience this necessary change may cause.
Resident vs. Commuter student parking permit system. Those students who reside on campus will be permitted to park on campus 24/7 whereas those students with commuter parking permits will be able to park on campus at all times except 3:30 am - 6:00 am, Tuesday through Friday mornings. A commuter student, for parking purposes, is defined as anyone that resides locally off campus and not in University at Albany operated housing at Liberty Terrace, Empire Commons, Freedom Apartments or Alumni, Colonial, Dutch, Indian, & State Quads. If a commuter student needs to leave their vehicle on campus between these timeframes please park in the southern portion of Dutch student lot and send an email to email@example.com so we are aware of the overnight parking need.
