Community Service Month 2011

Join in, Get involved, Contribute Your Knowledge and Talents to Make a Difference - 2011

 

Last May we joined together to announce October as UAlbany's first-ever Community Service Month.  The goal is to build on the meaningful and impactful work so many of you -- our students, faculty and staff - are doing in the region and beyond. Thank you! You are contributing to improving lives and opportunities whether in schools, health social service agencies, or small businesses, from local to global.

 

We are pleased that UAlbany was recognized for its service last May by the 2010 (U.S.) President's Higher  Education Community Service Honor Roll. Only 16 SUNY institutions have this designation. We hope to see these important campus efforts continue to grow.

We want to thank our 30 plus Community Service Month Planning Committee with representatives from across campus for making this happen. Special thanks to co-chairs: Linda Krzykowski, Office of Undergraduate Education, John Murphy, Division of Student Success, and Miriam Trementozzi, Office of the President.

We also want to recognize those who have joined with the University, Student Association and the Graduate Student Organization as sponsors of various Community Service Month activities: University Auxiliary Services at Albany, The University at Albany Foundation, the Alumni Association, the University at Albany Dining Services, and SUNY and New York Campus Compact.
