New York State Social Work Education Consortium
The consortium is a formal partnership between the New York State Association of Deans of Social Work Schools and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). Building and supporting a professional workforce through training, education and research will improve results for children and families. The consortium becomes a vehicle for systems improvement and cross-systems change by developing education partnerships involving schools of social work, county child welfare services, and the NYS OCFS. The consortiumís long-term goal is the design and implementation of an overall Workforce Development Plan, strengthening the knowledge and skills of New York's public agency human services workforce. Seven regional collaborations have been established in Western, Rochester, Central, North Country, Eastern, Downstate and New York City to plan and implement programs to achieve our goal with representatives from local social services districts, and graduate and undergraduate social work programs.
